COLONEL LYNNE M. BUSSIE

Colonel Lynne M. Bussie is the Commander, 49th Medical Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. She commands 275 personnel in 2 squadrons and across the group staff and is responsible for the health and wellness of 14,000 beneficiaries to include members assigned to the 49th Wing and mission partners. Col Bussie oversees medical operations by maintaining combat-ready deployable medical units, managing a $12 million budget, and ensuring compliance with medical and environmental regulatory standards. Col Bussie graduated from Auburn University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and from Auburn University Montgomery in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She received a direct commission into the Air Force Medical Service Corps in October 2001. Col Bussie has held a variety of leadership positions at the flight, squadron, group, and staff level. She also served as A1 Officer in Charge while deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in 2010. Prior to this position, Col Bussie was the Deputy Commander, 81st Medical Group, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. She oversaw operational medicine operations to ensure the availability of major war and peacetime medical readiness response forces. Additionally, she ensured all Keesler medics were ready for combat missions and humanitarian medical responses. Col Bussie also directed the development of peacetime medical readiness and wartime expeditionary medical operations for the medical group.
