The Holloman’s chiefs group has a monthly recognition program titled Chief’s Choice Award. Every month a chief has the honor of choosing a deserving airman for an outstanding act or for continuous outstanding performance.

For the month of January, the chiefs are proud to present the Chief’s Choice Award to:

Airman 1st Class Collin L. Turner.  

 

Q. 1     What squadron are you a part of, what is your job title and what are your duties?

A. 1     I am a 49th Communications Squadron client service technician. My duties are to install software and provide remote IT assistance.

Q. 2     How long have you been in the Air Force?

A. 2     I entered the Air Force in September of 2016.

Q. 3     How long have you been at Holloman?

A. 3     I arrived at Holloman in May of 2017.

Q. 4     Where is your hometown?

A. 4     Montpelier, Ohio.

Q. 5     What is your personal motto?

A. 5     “Inhale Pizza, exhale negativity.”

Q. 6     Name two of your long-term goals?

A. 6     To achieve financial stability and own a Mustang GT 500.

Q. 7     What are your off-duty interests and hobbies?

A. 7     I am currently building a smart mirror (a mirror that can be used as an iPad).

Q. 8     Who or what are your inspirations?

A. 8     My father.

Chief Master Sgt. Jonathon Wilkins, 49th Maintenance Group Superintendent:

Turner installed and completed the Windows 10 changeover for 33 new laptops, installed 45 programs across the 49th Operations Group and MXG and installed VPNs on 6 senior leaders’ laptops ensuring OG and MXG commanders/superintendents mission readiness. He also provided short notice direct support to OG/CC and OG/CEM, wherein he reimaged laptops, updated software and updated VPN which enabled OG Leadership to continue the mission while TDY. This was all done the day prior to the TDY. He also assisted OG/CC, OG/CEM, OG/RA and OG/CCS with profile backups that enabled safe record keeping prior to the laptop transitions in both those offices, and troubleshot a number of small issues with the laptops and computers over the last few months.
