Q1) Where is your hometown?  

A1) Stone Mountain, GA.

   

Q2) How long have you been in the Air Force?  

A2) 11 years, 2 months.  

 

Q3) How long have you been at Holloman?  

A3) 1 year, 8 months.  

 

Q4) What squadron are you a part of, what is your job title and what are your duties?  

A4) I am part of the 49th Medical Support Squadron as a radiology technician and the acting Non-commissioned officer in charge of the 49th Medical Group education and training department. Currently my duties include directing the monthly MDG Newcomers Orientation program, facilitating OSHA briefings and the Joint Commission, and Air Force training requirements. I am the Wing coordinator for the Public Access Defibrillator program, managing 16 squadrons in defibrillator management and maintenance. I manage the Swank.com computer based training platform for 280 personnel and ensure training, competency, and orientation is completed and up-to-date for 121 officers, GS and contractor employees. I am the MDG SABC advisor, providing instruction on life saving tactics to service members. In addition to SABC, I am a Basic Life Support instructor and radiology technician providing courses and coverage when necessary. 

    

Q5) What is your personal motto?  

A5) “There are no loses in life only lessons.”    

  

Q6) Name two of your long-term goals?  

A6a) Continue my education and achieve a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications.  

A6b) Retire from the USAF with honor.  

  

Q7) What are your off-duty interests and hobbies?  

A7) I enjoy reading and playing sports, especially golf and bowling.    

 

Q8) Who or what are your inspirations?  

A8) My brother, who also serves in the Air Force as the Whiteman Air Force Base Communications Squadron deputy commander and my seven year old daughter. Both have inspired me to continually push myself to improve.    

 

Nominating reason for selection:

Chief Master Sgt. Michael H. Toreno, the 49th MDG superintendent, chose Handley because of his ability to go above and beyond in managing multiple Wing and Group level programs and is a stellar NCO with ample potential.
