It’s early on a summer morning, the sky is a mixture of soft blue and orange hues, and a cyclist pedals across a roadway. Droplets of sweat collect on his forehead as he charges forward, with his back arched and his body held snug against the handlebars of his bike.

Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. just celebrated its 20th annual Oktoberfest, hosted by the German air force. The actual German Oktoberfest, held in Munich, Germany, is a folk festival that runs from mid-or late-Sept. to the first week in October of each year. Thousands of Holloman Airmen and their families attended this year’s Oktoberfest, and enjoyed traditional Bavarian foods, beer and family-fun activities.
