Col. André L. Kennedy is the commander of the 49th Maintenance Group, 49th Wing, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. As commander, he manages, plans, programs, and implements policies and procedures that affect 1,040 maintenance personnel across four squadrons. He is responsible for all on- and off-aircraft maintenance to meet 49th WG operational training and contingency taskings as assigned by combatant commanders and the secretary of defense against high value, heavily defended targets. He also manages 49th WG sortie production, fleet training, weapons standardization and quality assurance. He is responsible for over $4.3 billion in total assets, including F-22 Raptors, MQ-1Predators and MQ-9 Reaper aircraft, avionics, test equipment, engines and munitions.
Colonel Kennedy is a 1988 graduate of South Carolina State University and a 2011 graduate of Air War College. A career aircraft maintainer, he received his commission through AFROTC, served in various stateside and overseas bases and at the Air Staff, and has commanded at the squadron and group levels.
