HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Arrianna Burch, daughter of Senior Airman James Hastings, 49th Material Maintenance Squadron, takes a look inside a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, also known as a HUMVEE, during Operation K.I.D.: Kids Investigating Deployment, Aug. 12, 2010. Airmen from the 49th Security Forces Squadron showed kids the inside of a HUMVEE and talked to them about how they are used in a deployed location. Big Give 2010 ends, rewards to last a lifetime
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Members from the Big Give team, We Kare 4 Kids Kingdom, pose for a group photo after winning the small team Big Give Award at the Desert Sands Enlisted Club, Aug. 6, 2010. The team won $2,500 sponsored by Desert Sun Motors and also won the People's Choice Award -- $500 sponsored by the Otero Federal Credit Union. Their project was to help clean-up the children's recreational park, Kid's Kingdom, by sanding and repainting the playground and picnic tables, filling in holes, relaying tiles and cinder block caps, and moving 35 tons of mulch.
