Holloman to provide 5th generation fighter support
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- A NASA Super Guppy aircraft taxies in after flight Dec. 14, 2010. The aircraft transported two T-38 Talons, which are the first two of 15 to be shipped here. The U.S. aircraft were used by the Republic of South Korea for training up until a few years ago and will now be regenerated and used as fifth generation fighter support. M1 Support Services at Holloman will regenerate the T-38s before they are sent to Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., and Tyndall AFB, Fla. Closures set for May 17 at Holloman
Holloman Air Force Base has announced hours of operations for various base services will be limited Friday, May 17, due to a scheduled Comprehensive Airmen Fitness Day. The 49th Medical Group will be closed in the morning for appointments and sick call, as will the pharmacy. All medical group facilities will reopen at 1 p.m. The 49th Security Forces Squadron’s Welcome Center will also suspend issuing contractor badges and and Defense Biometric Identification System cards for the remainder of the week due to limited manning. Holloman holds annual Airman Cookie Drive
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- A cookie package delivered by a First Sergeant, sits on an Airman's bed at the base dormitories Dec. 13, 2010. The cookies are from the annual Airman Cookie Drive, where members of the local community bake and donate cookies for all of the Airmen living in the dorms. The goal for this year was to give each Airman a dozen cookies, but with all of the contributions from Team Holloman and the local community, the Airmen received two dozen each.
