One Big Give team helps another

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Vanessa Welch, a military spouse and participant of the Big Give Project, fills out paperwork before donating 10 inches of hair to the Locks of Love organization at the salon inside the Base Exchange Aug. 4, 2010. Ms. Welch, a member of the Big Give team, HUG, volunteered to donate her hair in support of another team, POL, whose project is to solicit as many donations as possible for Locks of Love -- a non-profit organization that provides hair pieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. The POL team is made up of members from the 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Flight. Big Give 2010 is underway

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Karalee Duckworth, 49th Force Support Squadron Marketing, interviews Airman Jose DeSantiago, 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron, outside of the Base Exchange as part of the Big Give Project July 30, 2010. Airman DeSantiago is a member of the Big Give team, POL, which is posted outside of the BX with a Locks of Love display in an effort to solicit hair donations. The POL team is working with local salons to provide free or discounted hair cuts in conjunction with a hair donation for Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hair pieces to children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. The Big Give is a project headed by the 49th FSS Marketing Office, and Ms. Duckworth, along with other Marketing personnel, document the team?s projects and interview team members. Destey Robbins, Micheal Means and Leslie Tucker, all from the 49th Civil Engineer Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base, work together to set up a wall at the newly renovated Veterans of Foreign Wars administration building July 27, 2010. The participating members of the 49th CES were part of Holloman Air Force Base's annual Big Give, and have made significant progress with the project.
