Colonel DANZEL W. ALBERTSEN

Colonel Danzel W. Albertsen the commander of the 49th Maintenance Group, Holloman AFB, New Mexico. He commands 2,100 maintenance personnel in four squadrons responsible for all equipment and aircraft maintenance on 82 F-16C/D Fighting Falcons, 24 MQ-9 Reapers and 12 Ground Control Stations to meet the 49th Wing’s operational training and contingency taskings. He manages all 49th Wing MQ-9 and F-16 sortie production, maintenance, training, weapons standardization and quality assurance. He is responsible for over $2.5 billion in total assets, including aircraft, avionics, test equipment, engines and munitions.

Col Albertsen is a native of Saint Joseph, Missouri and was commissioned in 2001 through the Air Force Officer Training School. He is a graduate of the USAF Advanced Maintenance and Munitions Officer School. He has commanded twice at the squadron level. He last served as the Director of Staff, Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL.
Col Albertsen is an Aircraft Maintenance officer with experience supporting C-17, C-5A/B/C/M, C-130 Depot Maintenance, EC-130E/J, AC-130H/U/W, MC-130H/J/P/W, E-8C JSTARS, KC-135, and RC-135 aircraft. He has multiple deployments in support of both Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
