What is your nationality?
What type of traditional foods do you like to eat?
Home-made enchiladas and albondiga soup, a Mexican soup made with meatballs and vegetables, are my favorite traditional food.
Who were some of your role models growing up?
My parents had the greatest influence in my life. Very early in my childhood they emphasized family, moral values and a strong work ethic. They instilled in me the belief that I could accomplish any goal as long as I was prepared to give a 100 percent effort.
What are some of the traditions in your culture?
All of the traditions -- birthdays, holidays, festivals and religious events -- that I enjoy and participate in, center around the family. Family is very important to me.
What was it like growing up as a Hispanic?
I am comfortable with being Hispanic. However, I have to constantly remind myself that many people I interact with may not share similar background or experiences. Therefore, I have to ensure I communicate clearly in order to limit any misunderstanding.
