Events:

The African American Heritage Committee has put together the following events throughout the month of February to commemorate African American History Month:

February 6th
2 - 4 p.m.
Community Activity Center
Spoken Word 2009
This event will feature some of Holloman's finest poets, dancers and singers. Also will feature an art show and wine-tasting.

February 12th
11:30 - 1 p.m.
Desert Sands Enlisted Club
African American Heritage Luncheon
Luncheon will feature Col. Gail B. Colvin, Vice Commandant Culture and Climate, USAFA 

February 18th
11 - 1 p.m.
Base chapel
"A Taste of African American Cuisine" food tasting festival
Meal consists of authentic African, African American and Caribbean dishes and desserts. Proceeds will go towards annual scholarship/programs.

February 19th
9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Fitness and Sports Center gym
3 vs. 3 Basketball tournament and Slam Dunk contest
Will also feature music, trivia and displays. Entrance is limited to active-duty, retired and civil service personnel. Minimum age is 16 years.

February 20th
5 p.m.
Holloman Base Exchange
