49th MDG trains with weekend exercise
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Senior Airman J Otto, 49th Medical Operations Squadron, receives medical attention in the Medical Clinic during an exercise Jan. 22, 2011. This lobby in the clinic was used for triaging patients to determine the degree of care they needed. The degree of care would be the determining factor of what facility they would be transferred to. The primary objectives evaluated during this exercise were the 49th Mental Health Flight's capability to deal with sudden violence and how follow-on actions were handled between the 49th Security Forces Squadron and 49th Medical Group. HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- An Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician guides an ANDROS HD-1 robot out of the EOD truck Nov. 18, 2010. The exercise scenario called for 49th Civil Engineer Squadron EOD Airmen to respond to and neutralize a simulated explosive device. The scenario was part of a base-wide exercise which tested Team Holloman's ability to respond to an emergency situation such as a terrorist attack, and to effectively execute changes to Force Protection Condition in response. During the scenario, role-playing members from a criminal group threatened the base and 49th SFS Airmen were called-in to take control of the situation and apprehended the role-playing individuals.
