Col Alfred J. Rosales is the Deputy Commander, 49th Wing, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. He assists the commander to direct the Air Force’s largest F-16 and MQ-9 Formal Training Units to ensure combat readiness of deploying forces and assures support to 18 thousand installation personnel and families. Col Rosales manages over $3 billion in assets, 100+ aircraft, facilities, vehicles, and 1000+ homes on the Air Force’s third largest installation. The Colonel chairs and advises on 25 boards and committees and oversees 17 wing staff agencies.
Col Rosales was commissioned in July 2001 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He has commanded at the squadron level and has led a variety of staffs at the strategic and operational levels focused on NATO cyber software development, security and operations (DevSecOps), and Information Operations.
The Colonel was a flight examiner in the MQ-9A Reaper and T-6A Texan II, and a 4-ship Flight Lead in the F-16CJ Fighting Falcon completing multiple combat deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. He is a command pilot with more than 2,700 flight hours, over 200 combat hours, and 700 combat support hours. Prior to his current position, the Colonel was the Strategy Division Chief, 612th Air Operations Center, Air Forces Southern Command located in Tucson, Arizona.
