Lieutenant Colonel KRISTEN M. TORMA

Lieutenant Colonel Kristen M. Torma is the Deputy Commander, 49th Maintenance Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. In this position, she leads a team of over 2,100 Airmen, civilians, and contractors from 23 specialties to produce disciplined maintenance and sortie-generation capabilities on 81 F-16 Falcons, 24 MQ-9 Reapers, and associated Cockpits valued at $2.5B. The group supports MQ-9 Pilot and Sensor Operator training in the Air Force’s largest Formal Training Unit, tasked with producing over 700 combat-ready aircrew per year. Lieutenant Colonel Torma also supports the world’s largest Fighter Basic Course, tasked with producing over 50 combat-ready F-16 pilots per year as well as delivers back shop maintenance to support T-38 Talons and QF-16 Aerial Targets. Additionally, she is the Wing A4 Director responsible for Logistics, Maintenance, Engineering, and Force Protection serving as a functional subject matter expert to the Installation.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Torma received her commission in 2006 via the ROTC program at Wilkes University while earning her degree from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania. During her career, she has led deployed flightline maintenance operations in support of Operations Odyssey Dawn, Unified Protector, and New Dawn. She has served in a variety of maintenance assignments in AETC, AMC, ACC, USAFE, PACAF and AFMC to include commanding twice at the squadron level. Prior to her current assignment, Lieutenant Colonel Torma was an Airpower Strategist, Futures and Concepts, for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
