Colonel Col. Brandon S. Maroon

Colonel Brandon S. Maroon is the Commander of the 635th Materiel Maintenance Group, Holloman AFB, NM. He leads 408 military and civilian members across 32 different career fields. Additionally, he executes a $5.4 million-dollar annual budget, and is responsible for over 3,500 authorized equipment packages comprised of over 429 thousand items, 93 general and special purpose vehicles, and 114 facilities on a 275-acre compound with a combined value of $1.1 billion dollars in support of the Air Force's only organic Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR) and Fuels Support Equipment (FSE) unit. In this capacity he is responsible for providing flexible and responsive resources and technical expertise for the deployment, sustainment, setup, operation, maintenance, teardown, and reconstitution of equipment to support worldwide contingencies, natural disaster response, humanitarian relief, exercises, counterdrug, and other higher headquarters and POTUS-directed operations. This mission represents the Air Force's largest Container Management program and War Reserve Materiel deployment commitment. As the Air Force Center of Excellence for BEAR Operations, the Group supports modernization through constant testing and evaluation, achieves program efficiencies, and sets global standards as the BEAR and FSE Pilot Unit.

Colonel Maroon was commissioned at the United States Air Force Academy in 1998. He began his career as a Behavioral Scientist at Randolph AFB, TX, and later became a Logistics Readiness Officer. Previously, he has served in a variety of positions to include Joint Chiefs of Staff Action Officer, Squadron Commander, Director of Operations, Division Chief, Branch Chief, Executive Officer, Watch Officer, Installation Deployment Officer, Iraqi Army Advisor, and Chief of Exercise Content at the NATO Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway. Prior to his assignment to the 635 Material Maintenance Group, Colonel Maroon was the Logistics Section Head at HQ NATO, Brussels, Belgium, and responsible for strategic Military Committee advice to the North Atlantic Council in matters of Logistics, Enablement, and Resilience.

Colonel Maroon has been deployed in support of both Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM as well as aided in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts for Operations TOMODACHI and UNIFIED ASSISTANCE.
