Colonel ERIC B. QUIDLEY

Col. Eric B. Quidley is the Commander, 49th Mission Support Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. He commands a diverse team of over 1,800 personnel, providing base security, logistics, communication, contracting, engineering, and force support, to a population of 13,000 personnel. Col. Quidley supports F-16 Fighting Falcon and MQ-9 Reaper training operations, the 635th Materiel Maintenance Group, and the 704th Test Group. He oversees 66,000 acres of land, 1,394 facilities, and $5.3 billion in equipment and infrastructure. Col. Quidley also directs annual execution of $17 million in appropriated funds, $7.4 million in nonappropriated funds, and $33 million in civilian pay. Additionally, he provides base and local disaster response and contingency support. 


Col. Quidley was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of North Carolina in 2002 and entered the United States Air Force as a Scientist. He voluntarily cross-trained as a Logistics Readiness Officer in 2005. Col. Quidley has deployed multiple times, most recently in 2015 as the Commander of the 770th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron (AEAS) in Baghdad, Iraq. As the first Air Advisor to the Iraqi Air Force in the country since 2011, he led the logistics and maintenance advisory efforts, conducting over 70 key leader engagements outside the wire with the Iraqi Air Force Vice Chief of Staff, the A4, A9, and other key leaders while executing a complex and loosely Defined advisor mission in a hostile environment. His leadership extended to 124 Airmen in combat, whom he supported through 32 missions to forward operating bases throughout Iraq. Prior to his current position, he served as the Commander of the 76th Commodities Maintenance Group, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
