Shooters vie to be 'top gun' at Apache Sports Range

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Maj. Eric Hendrickson, 6th Reconnaissance Squadron, fires his rifle during a competition Oct. 19, 2010. The competition was hosted by the 6th RS and the 29th ATKS, and they were joined by members of associate units to compete for the title of pistol champion, rifle champion, shotgun champion and three-gun champion -- a combination of pistol, rifle and shotgun. The primary goal of the competitions was to build unit morale and to educate people on firearm safety. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Joshua Turner/Released)
