HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Airman 1st Class Estrella Mora, 49th Materiel Maintenance Squadron, puts on an Arc Flash hood before checking the functionality of a secondary distribution center Sept. 30, 2010. Airman Mora uses a 40 cal flash arc suit to protect his body from any possible electrical explosions that may occur when testing a SDC. These secondary distribution centers transform 12,470/7200 volts down to a useable 120/208 volts that powers tents, shop equipment and personal utilities in a deployed location. Electricians from the Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resource base perform maintenance tests on secondary distribution centers, primary switching centers and remote area lighting systems to ensure they are functional in military installations downrange.
