Holloman refurbishes retired F-117 Nighthawk
Staff Sgt. Julian Arroyo from the 49th Maintenance Squadron, fabrication flight, sands the F-117 at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., March 13. The F-117 has been on static display in Holloman’s Heritage Park since its retirement in 2008. Due to sun and inclement weather damage, the 49 MXS removed and towed the aircraft to the hangar to begin the restoration process. Airmen will perform structural maintenance on the Nighthawk and give the aircraft a fresh paint job before returning it for display in Heritage Park.
