One Military Day - Holloman AFB, N.M.

(HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M.) Airman 1st Class Devin Lewis, 49th Security Forces patrolman, walks back from checking members of Team Holloman’s identification cards at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. April 8, 2015. “I choose to join the military to help me grow up and mature in life,” said Lewis. Lewis maintains his motivation by knowing the ones that came before him made the military what it is, and he strives to keep it that way. Lewis uncle and grandfather were in the military and were his role models. “What better way honor them, then to follow their footsteps,” said Lewis. Lewis feels that he contributes to the military mission by keeping the personnel and assets on base safe. Lewis said he always wanted to be a cop and joining the military as a security forces patrolman was the ideal job for him. Lewis has been in for two and a half years and will be going to military working dog technical training in a few months. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. E’Lysia A. Wray/Released)
