The United States Air Force (USAF) announces the availability of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Special Use Airspace Optimization to support existing aircraft at Holloman Air Force Base (HAFB). The Final EIS evaluates the environmental consequences of a range of alternatives to optimize airspace in order to support required training missions for aircrews stationed at HAFB. The Final EIS identifies the preferred alternative as alternative 1, a proposed expansion of Talon Military Operating Area (MOA) over eastern New Mexico. (U.S. Air Force graphic by Tech. Sgt.
