NHL athlete trains like an F-16 Viper pilot
Scott Mayfield, NHL New York Islanders hockey player, gets fitted for flight equipment, Aug. 3, 2021, on Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. Mayfield toured the Optimizing the Human Weapon System facility, received aircrew flight equipment egress and parachute training, visited maintainers on the flight line and flew in an F-16 Viper, to understand the correlation of teamwork and training between the NHL and the U.S. Air Force.
