The Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics, arrived for his first visit to the friendliest place on earth June 24 to visit the base, speak with local community leaders and tour base housing.

The first thing that strikes you is its immense size," said Mr. Anderson after arriving at Holloman. "I found the base to be in terrific condition and found the leadership had their eyes on what's important in terms of maintaining quality of life for our Airmen," he added.

During his weeklong tour of New Mexico, Mr. William Anderson also talked with Governor Bill Richardson about the expansion of Melrose Range located at Cannon Air Force Base, N.M. They also discussed the Air Force's possible partnership with the Governor, his energy office and his team on developing new alternative energy products throughout the state of N.M.

While on base, he also got a chance to stop by the Fitness Center.

"It's an amazing structure. It's just really nice," he said.

Mr. Anderson also got a chance to sit down with members of Team Holloman and their families while visiting the base.
"I've found across the Air Force, that there are great people in uniform and their families are terrific supporters of their Airmen," he said after the visit.
