HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. --
The 49th Fighter Wing Chapel is sponsoring the "10 Great Dates for Enriching Your Marriage" program, currently scheduled for March 16, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Holloman Chapel with a second meeting scheduled for March 17, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The purpose of this program is to encourage couples of any type to get to know one another again.
Mr. David Arp and Ms. Claudia Arp, program instructors, will give the presentations.
Each course date will begin with a 20-minute video featuring Mr. and Mrs. Arp, who will introduce the evening's topic. After viewing the tape, enrolled couples are sent out for 90 minutes with instructions on where to go and what to do on their date.
"10 Great Dates" is also designed for couples preparing for deployment. In this case, couples attend five "first" dates, which cover commitment and communications, prior to the deployment. When the servicemember returns from their deployment, the couple goes on five more dates which focus on fun, household and parenting roles and growing together as a couple.
The cost to participate in the course is $15 for active-duty U.S. military and dependents and $30 for others. Tickets may be purchased from any Holloman first sergeant, by calling Airman 1st Class Salena Valdez, 49 FW chapel assistant, or Ms. Mary Landers, 49 FW Chapel, secretary of automation, at 572-7211. Airman Valdez and Ms. Landers may also be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
Volunteers wishing to be trained as facilitator couples are also asked to contact the 49 FW chapel staff. A facilitator couple training day has been scheduled for March 17, 7 p.m., at the 49 FW chapel. Childcare for facilitator couples will be provided.
German Air Force members and their spouses are encouraged to attend.
