As of June 15, the Domenici Fitness Center at Holloman Air Force Base is offering all Common Access Card holders 24-hour access to the gym facility.

For the first phase, the gym will only be open to Department of Defense contractors with CAC access, but after the trial phase, 24-hour access will be granted to dependents and members of the German Air Force.

"Areas of the gym that will be accessible are the cardio room, CrossFit room, weight machines, indoor track, basketball courts and racquetball courts," said Tech. Sgt. Lilliana Harris, 49th Force Support Squadron fitness program manager. "The weight room, parent room, locker rooms and indoor pool will be inaccessible after normal duty hours."

In order to be granted 24-hour access, members need to register their CAC at the front desk of the fitness center.

At normal closing hours, those who are in the gym will be required to exit for a brief time for fitness center employees to maintain accountability and lock up certain rooms.

At this time, fitness center staff members are unaware of how long the first phase will last.
