NEWS RELEASE: 3 Holloman Airmen dead in auto accident Published Jan. 21, 2014 By 49th Wing Public Affairs Release No. 14-01-05 HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Three personnel assigned to Holloman AFB, were killed in an auto accident on Airport Road in Alamogordo. The base was notified of the incident at approximately 9:45 a.m. today. The accident is under investigation by the Alamogordo Police Department, and the names of the deceased will be released 24 hours after next of kin have been notified. "It is with deep sadness that we must announce the death of three Team Holloman members," said Col. James Thompson, 49th Wing vice commander. "Please keep their families and all Holloman personnel in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn their tragic deaths."
