Everyone's favorite Asian cuisine stand at Holloman AFB will be expanding and moving to a new indoor location within the Mini Mall Express adjacent to the Shoppette. The move is planned to take place at the end of November, and will combine the Asian Gift Shop and the lumpia stand into one consolidated venue

According to Judith Poovey, lumpia stand and Asian Gift Shop owner, the new location will be called Lumpia Palace, and will be opened six days a week from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

"We're very excited, not just for ourselves, but for our customers," said Poovey. "We're going to be able to stay open for longer now and provide Airmen with more options as far as places to eat after work."

In addition to the extended hours coinciding with the move, Lumpia Palace will also be improving their menu.

"We plan to include at least four new items on our menu in addition to our traditional bulgolgi and lumpia. We hope to include items such as teriyaki ribs and fried rice that we know many people will enjoy."

The opening of the Lumpia Palace within the Mini Mall Express will fill the vacancy left by clothing sales, which is now located inside the Base Exchange. The Lumpia Palace plans to use the space to provide Airmen with authentic Asian cuisine as well as a place to shop for Asian grocery and gift items.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing Lumpia Palace move inside," said Senior Airman Michael Adams, 49th Comptroller Squadron financial services technician. "I think the extended hours are going to be great for Airmen living in the dorms, we are all going to have more options now."
