STEP it up ... another stripe

Tech. Sgt. Jason Estrada, 49th Medical Services Squadron, was asked to attend the 49th Medical Group Christmas party Dec. 8 when he was planning to stay home with his pregnant wife. While at the party, Brig. Gen. David Goldfein, 49th Fighter Wing commander, brought him in front of the party because he was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt to a semi-formal affair. The general, along with Chief Master Sgt. Marjorie McNichols, 49 FW command chief, surprised him with technical sergeant stripes as he was STEP promoted on the spot. STEP promotion is a promotion through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program.
