HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M., -- The Holloman's Chiefs Group has a monthly recognition program titled Chief's Choice Award. Every month a chief has the honor of choosing a deserving airman for an outstanding act or for continuous outstanding performance.

For the month of July, the chiefs are proud to present the Chief's Choice Award to TSgt John Wayne Johnson from the 49th Aircraft Maintenence Squadron, 49th Maintenence Group.

Tech. Sgt. Johnson is one of only three Tech. Sgt. Expediters assigned to the Reaper Aircraft Mx Unit Weapons flight. Among these three, they cover continuous rotational deployments to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan and manage weapons system qualifications and aircraft weapons platform upgrades.

1. What squadron are you a part of and what are your duties?
I am an integral cog in the 49 AMXS/Reaper AMU machine. Specifically, I am an MQ-9 aircraft Weapons Expediter.

2. How long have you been in the Air Force?
I have been in the Air Force for 17 glorious years.

3. How long have you been at Holloman?
I have been at Holloman for 5 years, 5 months, 11 days as of July 2014.

4. Where is your hometown?
My hometown is Gridley, California.

5. What is your personal motto?
A skilles leader must also know how to follow...and also when to step out of my way!

6. Name two of your long-term goals?
Two of my long term goals are to complete my Bachelors of Science in Nursing and run for and hold political office at the Congressional level.

7. What are your off-duty interests and hobbies?
In my off-duty time I like to spend time with my wife and daughter, build a better body, broaden my knowledge of politics and anatomy, and look for opportunities to leave this world better than I found it.

8. Who or what are your inspirations?
My God, my family, and my country are my inspirations. All that I do is an extension of a life dedicated to the service and honor of these.
