Holloman is home to the world’s premiere Remotely Piloted Aircraft training center. For the 49th Wing commander, this training goes beyond academics. It is also about pride, people and performance.

To better represent this, the 49th Wing Commander, Col. Houston Cantwell, has split the 49th Wing’s focus into three main points: the mission, the vision and the priorities.

The Mission:

Graduate Combat Ready RPA Aircrew… support Team Holloman… Feed the Fight.

The Vision:

Tight community of Airmen—proud of their service, caring for their people, while remaining mission focused.

The Priorities

◘ Provide unmatched RPA pilot and sensor operator training.

◘ Enable tenant units and enhance regional partnerships.

◘ Ensure Airmen readiness and development.

◘ Strengthen our Air Force family and community.

◘ Prepare for seamless Air Education and Training Command transition

“Not only do I want to make sure that we become and remain the premier training organization," he said. "I want to make sure everyone assigned to the wing understands how important that role is.”

Cantwell also feels strongly about each Airmen taking pride in being part of Team Holloman—from its academic training to its presence on the battlefield

“That is really something to be proud of," said Cantwell. This is an organization, the RPA enterprise, that is out there every day, 24-7, literally on the front lines of our national defense doing amazing things for our country  We should all take pride in that.”
