Airman 1st Class Kirstan Lin, 49th Civil Engineer Squadron Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning apprentice, receives the June Top III Airman Award from Master Sgt. Timothy Gatten, 54th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron first sergeant and Top III president, Nov. 28, 2017, at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. During the month of October, Lin responded to emergency calls concerning inoperative cooling equipment at the Next-Generation Radar Weather Forecast Operations building. He repaired critical air conditioning systems restoring cooling to a $2 million radar providing weather coverage for 48,000 square miles and 800,000 people. His efforts allowed forecasting to resume enabling weather coverage for the local area leading to 5,312 flying operations and 656 training hours. 

Tech. Sgt. Gilbert Cordova, 49th Force Support Squadron Airman Leadership School instructor, receives the October Top III Noncommissioned Officer Award from Master Sgt. Moises Guzman-Roman, 49th Operation Support Squadron airfield flight superintendent and Top III treasurer, Nov. 28, 2017, at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. During the month of October, Cordova partnered with the Alamo City Hall, police department, recreation center, municipal court, public library and the clerks office. This coordination set up and judged 15 categories for 10 city of Alamogordo Halloween festivities, which was attended by 400 people. He also completed six defense acquisition university courses while instructing an ALS class and mentored 32 students from 12 different Air Force specialty codes.
