The Air Force recently launched their mobile app, Air Force Connect, aimed at providing Airmen and their families access to information and tools to assist with their daily lives and careers from the palms of their hands.

The app is available for free from the Apple App Store and through Google Play.

App users can access local Holloman content by adding the 49th Wing as a “favorite” within the Air Force Connect app. To access the favorites portal, tap the star icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the home screen to view a list of units. Once users select “49th Wing” they can swipe right from the home screen to access local content.

The Air Force Connect app and 49th Wing sub-app offer a variety of features designed specifically for Airmen and their families. Popular features of the 49th Wing sub-app include a local private and professional organization listing, resources for military spouses and children, information about base facilities and a calendar advertising events on base.

App users also have the option to use the groups feature, which allows members of a particular unit or organization to privately share content with one another completely within the app. All groups must be approved by the 49th Wing Public Affairs office, please e-mail 49wg.paoffice@us.af.mil with any questions or for assistance.

In addition to the content available within the primary app and the 49th Wing sub-app, Common Access Card enabled functions are currently being beta tested. CAC functionality would allow Airmen to pair their mobile device with a CAC reader to access sites previously restricted to the Air Force Network.
• Air Force Portal
• Defense Travel System (DTS)
• eFinance
• Webmail (iOS currently unable to access Air Force webmail)
• Virtual Personnel Center (vPC)

Complete instructions, to include required hardware, are available within the CAC feature’s “help” section.
