Ms. Heather King, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Integration and Defense Support of Civil Authorities, and Ms. Barbara Buteau-Pierre, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Comptroller, is briefed by U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Taylor “Latch” Francis, Task Force Holloman A3 director, on how Aman Omid Village operates within Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, Oct. 17, 2021. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities, in permanent or temporary structures, as quickly as possible.
