Five students graduated from the Project SEARCH program, during a ceremony at Club Holloman, May 24, 2022, here.

Project SEARCH is a high school transition program that provides ample training and education, leading to employment opportunities for students with developmental disabilities. Interns spend their final year of high school learning about services while being fully immersed inside of different businesses.

Interns complete three 10-week internships where they gain practical employability skills. Through these internships, students gain task-related skills and people skills that prepare them for competitive jobs in their community when their internship is done. The 49th Force Support Squadron provided different locations for the interns to develop these skills.

The 2021-2022 school year was the inaugural year for this program and Holloman is the first military installation in New Mexico to host the program. The work of the students and the success of the program paved the way for this program to reach Cannon AFB, New Mexico and Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.
There are multiple community partners that made this possible.
