CFC kicks off at Holloman

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. --  The 2012 Combined Federal Campaign kicked off at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., Oct. 2, with a donation goal of $120,000.

The CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, raising millions of dollars each year for eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world, according to their official website.

"You can see from the local discussions here what the impact is to our Airmen and to other Americans out there that need some help," said Col. Andrew Croft, 49th Wing commander. "Also it's important for us to give back as well and say 'thank you' to all the Americans who support us."

Maj. Damien Pavlik is the base's point of contact for this year CFC. For me, donating is great way to be less selfish and more focused on giving to others in need, said Pavlik.

"It is very important to donate to the CFC because it is a very easy way to support a cause you believe in or to support a charity that has helped your loved ones, friends or family," said Pavlik.

A representative has been assigned to each unit at Holloman AFB, each equipped with donation booklets and cards. The unit representatives will make 100 percent contact with members in their unit to ensure that anyone who wants to donate has the opportunity to do so.

CFC participation is voluntary, and Team Holloman members, both military and civilian, can donate to any of the 3,000 and more non-profit organizations of their choice by making a one-time contribution, or by a monthly payroll deduction over the span of one year.
