AF to develop waste-to-energy facility on Holloman AFB Published June 22, 2012 By 49th Wing Public Affairs HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The Air Force Real Property Agency announced June 21 that the Air Force intends to enter into exclusive lease negotiations with New Generation Biomass, LLC, for the development of a 20 megawatt biomass/waste-to-energy facility on approximately 80 acres on Holloman AFB, N.M., near Alamogordo, N.M. The property is managed by the 49th Wing at Holloman AFB, N.M. This is a single parcel of land. The lease is not expected to result in an annual rent payment or in-kind consideration exceeding $750,000; therefore, this is intended only as a courtesy Congressional Notification. 10 U.S.C. 2667(h)(2) provides an exception to use of competitive procedures for the lessee when it is determined the public interest will be served as a result of the lease. The Air Force intends to commence negotiations soon after your receipt of this notification.
