La Luz and West Gate closures

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Officials with the 49th Wing have announced two gate closures for the upcoming Christmas holiday.

Due to an ACC Family Day on Friday, Dec. 23, and the federal holiday in observance of Christmas on Monday, Dec. 26, the La Luz and West gates will be closed on those days. Both gates will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 6 a.m.

Regular visitors to Holloman are asked to use the Main Gate, located on Highway 70, to enter the base on these days.

Delays could be experienced at the Main Gate due to the increased traffic volume. Visitors should also be prepared for random vehicle checks by security forces personnel. Anyone entering the base should be prepared for 100 percent ID checks and the possibility of showing a second form of identification, if required.

The normal hours of operation for the La Luz and West gates are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
