The sales lot for privately owned vehicles has recently been moved across from the Auto Hobby Shop on Connecticut Avenue.

The change in location is due to the limited parking space in the lot between the Community Activity Center and the Bowling Alley where the POV sales lot was formerly located. Additionally, this will make changes in the force protection level easier in terms of parking.

This change will also make it more convenient for those needing to utilize the POV sales lot, said Buddy Ward, Auto Hobby Shop manager.

"Prior to parking a vehicle on the POV sales lot, you are required to go through the Auto Hobby Shop," he said. "With the lot now located right across the street, the process to use the lot will be much more convenient than having to go [here] and then have to drive to the lot."

With a lot reserved for the sole purpose of selling POVs, the confusion that once existed of not knowing where the designated POV sales lot was no longer exists, Ward said.

"This can't be misunderstood as alternate parking like the previous location," he said.

The cost per of having a vehicle located at the POV sales lot is $10 per month and the vehicles allowed ranges from cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, campers, RVs, boats and more.
