A&FRC to host Job Fair Published Oct. 20, 2010 By the 49th Wing Public Affairs Office HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a Job Fair at the Desert Sands Enlisted Club from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 27. The event is open to all eligible card holders to include active duty, retired military members, civil servants and family members as an opportunity to test the job market waters. "This is not only for the folks who are retiring or separating from the military and the retired population possibly looking for a job, but also the family members looking for job," said Bob Berger, A&FRC Community Readiness Consultant. "Our goal is to really create awareness of where people can find information about jobs and opportunities." The A&FRC has invited employers from local, in-state and out-of-state businesses and agencies, and have so far confirmed the attendance of about 20 of them, along with members of the Education Center who will be there to provide information on those interested in pursuing higher education. They encourage those attending, even if it's just to browse, to come prepared to be interviewed with an up-to-date resume. "If you're an opportunist looking for a job, come on out. Be prepared to do a job application and have a resume. Even if you're just looking, you should be able to sit down and talk knowledgably about yourself," said Mr. Berger. The A&FRC can provide resume and interview help for those who need it. To schedule an appointment or for further information, contact the A&FRC at 575-572-7754.
