GOV license update required Published May 12, 2010 By the 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Recently the 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron Operator Records & Licensing Office completed a mandated Headquarters Air Force database change requiring a reissue of government driver's licenses. The database conversion, in addition to new licensing requirements in AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations, mandates new government licenses be issued to anyone who currently has or may operate a government owned vehicle, to include those vehicles that may be rented or leased. The most notable change will affect the expiration date. Previously, military personnel had "indefinite" for an expiration date, however, under new instruction, the expiration date must match the civilian license expiration date. In order to facilitate the transfer and expedite issuance of more than 3,000 Air Force Form 2293s, a schedule has been developed by 49th LRS Operator Records & Licensing Office. Squadron Vehicle Control Officers and Vehicle Control Non Commissioned Officers are required to ensure personnel arrive at building 311 on the appropriate day. Each Friday has been set aside to accommodate shift workers, or those who may be on leave or TDY. Additional personnel and licensing stations will be established to accommodate the increase of customers. For more information, contact your unit VCO/VCNCO.
