A luxurious makeover, wine and cheese tasting, a glamorous photo shoot and a few hours without the kids ... to many women, this all sounds like a fairy tale.

Thanks to a few contributors, this fairy tale came true for Holloman's deployed spouses who spent a relaxing evening supported by the Airman and Family Readiness Centers Families Apart Program.

In collaboration with the A&FRC, Lodging provided their best room -- the Alamogordo Suite -- and a local make up representative, Sandy Goga, said she was thrilled to provide resources for makeovers. An El Paso, Texas, winery supplied the main components for a wine tasting and the Holloman Enlisted Spouses Organization provided gift basket donations, all in an effort to show appreciation to the ladies that are holding down the homefront.

The A&FRC's Families Apart Program supports family members of deployed, remote and extended temporary duty servicemembers and holds events quarterly to take care of Holloman's families. This time around, in celebration of the Year of the Air Force Family, the staff at the A&FRC decided they would take glamour shots and make the event a special treat to pamper the spouses.

The networking, relaxation and the photo card the ladies received to send to their husbands were just a few things the event contributors did to honor the spouses' service to the Air Force Family.

The next Families Apart event, a car show and barbeque, will be held Wednesday, May 12.
