The Chiefs are proud to award the August Chief's Choice award to Airman 1st Class Katie Fiske from the 49th Maintenance Operations Squadron here.

Chosen by Chief Master Sgt. Kathy Harmon, 49th Maintenance Squadron, Airman Fiske is a maintenance data systems analyst currently assigned as a dedicated analyst for the F-22A Low Observables Section in the 49th MXS.

"At first, I couldn't believe it! Once it sunk in, I was very pleased to receive this honor," Airman Fiske said about receiving the award.

She is recognized for her professional image, proactive nature, superior communication skills and ability to handle situations with the maturity of a much higher ranking person.

Airman Fiske, from Tabernacle, N.J., arrived at Holloman in August 2008. Her professional goals are to make the Air Force a career and to attain the rank of senior master sergeant so she can focus on taking care of people.

She is inspired by her leadership, who always gives her chances to step up and encourage her to do more. That drive helps her do her job very well, and is illustrated in her personal motto: "The hard times are what makes the good times so good; they make you appreciate them even more."

Airman Fiske looks forward to sharing this recognition with her husband, who is currently deployed to Iraq.
