Environmental Assessment for Unmanned Aircraft System

This announcement provides public notification for the availability of the draft Environmental Assessment and draft Finding of No Significant Impact prepared by the U.S. Department of the Air Force and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District. 

The EA pertains to the beddown of a MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) second Field Training Unit (FTU) and relocation of an existing FTU from Creech Air Force Base (AFB), Nevada. 

The draft EA discusses the potential environmental effects of the proposed construction and renovation of the UAS training facilities and the operation and maintenance of the MQ-1/MQ-9s. 

Two bases, Holloman AFB, New Mexico and Edwards AFB, California are being evaluated as potential sites for the proposed beddown. 

The draft EA and draft FONSI will be available for review for 30 days beginning the day of this publication.
