Members of Holloman Air Force Base Middle Two Council participated in litter removal off the group's Adopt-A-Highway location, March 3.
Litter removal is one part of the area's Keep Alamogordo Beautiful program. The Middle Two Council adopted Highway 70, between mile markers 207 and 208 years ago and has been maintaining it ever since. Holloman Air Force Base Middle Two Council consists of E-5's and E-6's from Holloman.
"The Middle Two Council is established to promote the morale, discipline, welfare, esprit de corps, recreation, and general well being for all enlisted personnel assigned to Holloman," said Staff Sgt. LaTora Jackson, Middle Two President.
Keep Alamogordo Beautiful was started by the Middle Two Council and has been sustained to help build strong ties to the people of Alamogordo and promote Holloman's community involvement and effort to keep the environment clean. The participants inspected both sides of the council's adopted Highway picking up all the trash in sight. At the end of the day they filled over 15 garbage bags with collected litter.
"Keep Alamogordo Beautiful, is only one of many community services that the council actively participates in and this is a token of our appreciation to Alamogordo for all it does for Holloman," said Sergeant Jackson.
