Ever feel like no one is listening? Facing an important organizational issue your team has been struggling to resolve? Have an idea that will save our organization time, resources or manpower? If you feel like your voice isn't being heard, sometimes one might need to elevate the discussion further up the chain of command.

As the commander, those types of issues are exactly the type of logjams I want to resolve. The Air Force is a large, fast moving organization with challenges at every level. The challenge for commanders is simple: to provide the resources and ability for your team to accomplish their mission in a safe and timely manner.

In order to fulfill this role, we've implemented channels for Airmen to provide feedback, signpost problems, alert leaders to fraud, waste and abuse, or to reach out for assistance in times of need.

I want you to know -- one of those routes leads directly to my desk.

My office door might be literally thousands of miles from your location, but the "Open Door" policy my staff and I share is only a mouse click away.

Log on to the Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) homepage and look for the "Open Door" tab above the "12th Air Force Web Forum." From there, you can submit questions, comments, suggestions or concerns directly to me.

Your identity will remain anonymous during the entire process. I'll evaluate, analyze and answer your query, then post the dialogue on the Air Force portal where other members of our command can benefit from these inputs. Together, we can help to improve combat readiness, find new efficiencies and reduce the number of items causing Airmen to lose focus of the mission.

You can be certain; I'm committed to listening to your issues and finding solutions to keep our organization focused on providing the Air Force and U.S. Southern Command the most capable and effective force in the military.
