Holloman Primary and Intermediate Schools (479-6122) Operation Caring Classroom: Families Serve Too 11 November The Armed Forces Foundation's national education initiative was created to encourage students to support the children of military families. Each year the program selects 50 schools from 50 states to take part in an outreach effort to support children coping with the absence of a parent. Students show their support by building strength chains, coloring pictures, and writing letters of support. A DVD will be shown in the classroom showing our country's important political and military leaders leading the students in the pledge of allegiance. Students will have an opportunity to compete in a coloring competition (2nd grade and under) and an essay competition (3rd grade and up) to win a lunch party for their class. From these winners, the AFF will pick national winners who will win a laptop, a $500 savings bond and be published in Super Chevy Magazine.
