Government Travel Cards reissued Published Aug. 25, 2008 By Senior Airman Tiffany Trojca 49th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Air Force members currently holding Government Travel Cards can soon expect a change. A new and slightly different card will be arriving in the mail and the biggest difference is the bank. The contract between the government and Bank of America has expired, and the cards will now be issued through CitiBank. "The new cards were mailed out on Aug. 13 to members in N.M., and use of the new card will officially begin Nov. 30. Recipients of the new card should verify receipt as soon as it is received," said Donna Miller, GTC base agency program coordinator. Travel cards are available to Department of Defense employees with the strict understanding that it will not be abused or misused in any way. It is mandatory for all DoD employees to use their GTC for official government travel, unless exempted from use or denied due to poor credit or a suspended account. It may only be used for travel when on official government orders; never personal use.
