Holloman Air Force Base is currently in the process of renovating its Kidsports facility as part of the ongoing quality of life initiative here.

The new Kidsports will be located at the new Airman and Family Readiness Center in the old Base Exchange facility, Bldg. 787. The facility is scheduled to open late fall.

"The Kidsports is an indoor play room with slides and climbing bars and activities to challenge and stimulate children's minds, but so they also have some fun," said Ms. Linda Aguirre, 49th Force Support Squadron, supervisory recreation specialist.

The Kidsports is free and open to children up to age six when accompanied by an adult.

According to Ms. Cleveann Demotta, 49th Force Support Squadron, deputy director, the Kidsports layout will include a large children's indoor play area, children's party room, and a parent's area with rocking chairs.

The large play area will include soft stage play structures, tunnels and ramps. There will also be a nursery, gym and television area for movies.

"Our children are a vital part of the Holloman team and Kidsports is all about upgrading the quality of life for our smallest Team Holloman members," said Ms. Demotta. "Our goal is to create a positive, fun and special environment that empowers and encourages children."
