The Air Force's premier entertainment showcase, Tops in Blue, performed "Deja Blue" at 7:00 p.m. June 2, at the Tays Special Events Center on the University of New Mexico-Alamogordo campus.

"The Tops in Blue performance was great!" said Airman 1st Class Krista Lawrence, 49th Civil Engineer Squadron. "I really enjoyed the show and had a good time, I think this years show was wonderful."

This year's show,"Deja Blue" commemorates more than 55 years of entertainment history. Tops in Blue showcases music, dance and comedy -- all performed by active-duty Airmen who perform non-stop live entertainment.

A 30-member group is chosen from the Air Force Worldwide Talent Contest. Every year active-duty members from diverse career fields begin competing at the base level in talent shows.

"Their performances get better each year. Come out and see the show, it is something everyone should experience," said Ms. Linda Aguirre, Tops in Blue project manager, " The performers in the show represent the Air Force very well."

Tops in Blue was created from a vision by Col. Alvin E. Reilly in 1953 to recognize the high caliber of entertainment in the Air Force community. In a span of 40 year, Tops in Blue performed in films, produced albums and has been featured on national television.

"Our Air Force is full of remarkable Airmen, and they are doing an incredible job," said Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney J. McKinley. "Our Tops in Blue Airmen carry on this tradition as they showcase the professionalism and dedication of the finest Air Force in the World - the United States Air Force."

The mission of Tops in Blue is to enhance mission productivity for Air Force members and their families. Tops in Blue presents an average of 120 performances at 100 locations worldwide to over 250,000 military personnel and their families each year.

"I love it!" said Ms. Socorro Reeves, Holloman Air Force Base Community Center Recreation Specialist, "It is very inspiring and entertaining to see the members of the Air Force chosen to represent the best in the performance."
