Start Smart baseball program teaches kids the basics
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Georgia Porter, 3, practices hitting a ball off a tee with the assistance of her father, Maj. Maynard Porter, 46th Test Group, at the Youth and Teen Center Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., May 8. Georgia Porter is one of 13 children enrolled in the Start Smart baseball program, which teaches children ages 3 to 5 the fundamentals of baseball before they join an official baseball team. The classes last one hour and are held twice a week for three weeks.
